Sad really, I liked Black back in the day, esp their very early stuff before he had the hits.

Car crash. Severe head injuries. Induced coma. Then died. A lot of his "hit" stuff sounds dated now (the '80s!) but he had a great voice. IMO. Met him a couple of times. Lovely chap.

One of the first albums I ever bought. Sweetest Smile was also a great tune. Basically, the album had 2 great tunes.

Absolutely loved the guy, did some great stuff. I'd been hoping he'd pull through but, given his brain injuries, maybe death was a blessing. R.I.P. Big fella.

Weird, the song "it's a wonderful life" came up in a conversation with the missus about twenty minutes ago even though I probably hadn't thought of that song in years.

"Wonderful Life" by Black was adopted by the anti-communists in the turmoil of the Romanian revolution in 1999. It's something of an alternative national anthem over there. Even if their life isn't always so wonderful.

Really good song that but dunno much else about the fella, been ruined for an advert that song, lazy slowed down versions of original songs with average vocals seems to be what advertising agency's think add class to their production!
